In the summer of 2022, my painting Sunflower Magic was accepted into the Standing with Ukraine Exhibition at the Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen. They loved the painting and used it on their invitation. While participating in that exhibition, I submitted a painting of Reedville which was selected for their 2023 promotional calendar. Last spring, I was approached by their curator to have a solo exhibition at their Midway Gallery for two months beginning in mid January 2024. The Cultural Arts Center is located in Henrico county just outside of Richmond in a former elementary school. It has four gallery spaces showcasing regional and international artwork. They also have a theater and offer classes for adults and children. My show, Zestful Nature, is in the Midway gallery and includes 19 of my vibrant landscape paintings.
In my exhibition Zestful Nature my enthusiasm for the beauty of the natural world is captured in my high energy landscape paintings. I love color, and my obsession was intensified by the nine years I lived in the bright light of the US Virgin Islands. The exhibition will be on display through March 26, 2024.
